Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 26, 2026

This page explains what MiawXyz collects, when optional cookies and advertising are enabled, and what rights visitors have under privacy laws including the GDPR where it applies.

Who We Are

MiawXyz is a personal blog and portfolio operated by MiawXyz Enterprise. The site publishes game reviews, development notes, and project updates.

For privacy questions, requests, or complaints, please use the contact page at /contact.

What We Collect

We collect a limited amount of information needed to run the site and understand how it is used. Depending on the page and your choices, this may include:

  • basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, device information, and referral data
  • page visit and interaction data generated by your browser when requesting the site
  • messages you choose to send through our public contact channels
  • consent and preference data so the site can remember your privacy and theme settings

Cookies, Local Storage, and Consent

MiawXyz uses a small amount of browser storage for site operation. Some storage is necessary so the site can remember your theme and privacy settings. Advertising consent is handled through the site's privacy controls.

The site currently uses two simple categories:

  • Necessary storage. Required for core site behavior, including remembering your theme and consent choices.
  • Advertising. Allows Google AdSense and related Google services to store or access information for ad delivery, fraud prevention, and where permitted, personalization.

You can accept or decline advertising consent and change that choice any time from the footer or the privacy controls on this page.

Advertising and Google Services

MiawXyz may use Google AdSense to display advertising. Google and its partners may process data such as device identifiers, browser information, IP address, and interaction signals to deliver ads, limit repeated impressions, measure performance, and help prevent fraud or abuse.

If you decline advertising consent, Google may still serve limited or non-personalized ads where permitted, but personalization-related consent signals remain denied.

You can read more about how Google uses data at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Legal Bases for Processing

Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on different legal bases depending on the activity:

  • Consent. For optional advertising technologies that are not required to run the site.
  • Legitimate interests. For securing the site, preventing abuse, maintaining content, and responding to messages.
  • Legal obligations. Where retention or disclosure is required by law.

GDPR and Similar Privacy Rights

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with similar rights, you may have the right to:

  • request access to personal data we hold about you
  • request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • request deletion of data when there is no valid reason for us to keep it
  • object to or restrict certain processing
  • withdraw consent for optional processing at any time
  • complain to your local data protection authority

Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that happened before the withdrawal. You can update your choice at any time through the site's privacy controls.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with service providers only when needed to operate the site, such as:

  • hosting and delivery providers
  • advertising providers such as Google, but only when you have enabled the relevant optional category
  • professional advisers or authorities where required to protect rights, safety, or legal compliance

Retention

We keep personal data only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected, including security, record-keeping, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. Consent records may be kept for longer where needed to document privacy choices.

International Transfers

Some service providers may process data outside your home country. Where required, we rely on the provider's contractual or legal safeguards for those transfers.

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect legal, technical, or business changes. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above.
